FAQ: Health Protocols

This document summarizes our venue’s communication with the general public regarding COVID operations.

We expect to update this material continuously and frequently as events unfold.

We have shared these protocols with our medical partner, RWJBarnabas Health, to ensure a mindful plan that adheres to safety and recommended guidelines.

What is happening to enhance the safety and cleanliness of the venue?

    • Team Members
      • We require all employees to wear masks and report any illness to a supervisor; employees are encouraged to not come to work if they feel at all ill.
      • We require notification of positive COVID-19 cases in a team member’s household; in such circumstances, the employee is removed from the work schedule and encouraged to be tested before returning to work.
      • Our team members are provided sanitizing stations, such as a wash basin with soap and/or bottle of hand sanitizer.
      • We prohibit congregating team members in break rooms or common areas and limit capacity of such areas to allow for safe social distancing.
      • Team members adhere to a more frequent cycle of side-work cleaning, involving wiping down equipment, benches, bleachers, and commonly-touched surfaces.
    •  Food Service Areas  (Outdoor concessions, Contactless Pick Up, and Inside Dining)
      • Iron Peak has incorporated CDC recommendations, OSHA and local Health Department standards, and industry best practices into operating guidelines for our staff to follow.
      • We have extensive cleaning and handling standards in place for our food preparation and public seating areas.
      • Our team members are continuously sanitizing chairs and tables, especially where contact occurs.
      • Kitchen areas are thoroughly cleaned with sanitizing solutions multiple times daily – before, between, and at the close of shifts.
      • When preparing food, team members are required to wash their hands more frequently, not less than once every 30 minutes.
      • Team members change food and beverage gloves frequently, not less than once every 30 minutes.
      • We follow government guidelines for food area social distancing and seating capacity.
    • Additional Cleaning/Safety Standards
      • Signage and wayfinding is positioned throughout the venue encouraging hand washing, masking if not vaccinated, and other safe practices.
      • We are continuously monitoring and improving our operations for the safety of our participants, spectators, and team members.
      • We are committed to communicating with coaches, event owners, participants, vendors, and other visitors regarding our guidelines, and requesting everyone work together to keep us all safer.
      • We provide hand sanitizer in high traffic areas and recommend distancing where possible.

What’s the Iron Peak plan if someone attending has tested positive for COVID-19?

    • Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 should not enter the venue until they have been released by a doctor and diagnosed as “recovered.” *CDC currently recommends a quarantine period of 5-7 days, without symptoms, from day of positive test. In ‘high level’ areas, quarantine recommendations might be longer.
    • Anyone who presents symptoms of illness, or answers screening questions upon entry in a way that gives us concern, will not be admitted to the venue, as a way of protecting every other guest at the venue, and preventing exposures and spread.
    • Unless fully vaccinated, any coach, participant, or spectator that has recently been exposed to someone who has contracted and tested positive for COVID-19, should not return to Iron Peak without quarantining.
