Tryouts – FAQ

Can my child attend only one tryout date?

Yes. While attending both tryout dates is highly recommended, attending one session is enough for coaches to evaluate your child.

What should we expect on tryout days?

  • Please arrive early — check-in lines can be long
  • Players will receive a number with their grade in front (ex: 612 for a 6th grader)
  • This number will be used for identification purposes and will remain the same for both tryout dates
  • Sessions will include:
    • Warm-ups
    • Skill work
    • Competitive play
  • Coaches will be evaluating throughout the session
  • A group photo per age group will be taken at the end of each tryout

When will tryout results be shared?

Results are typically announced 10–12 days after the second tryout date.

Spring Season – FAQ

When does the spring season run?

  • Start: March 17 (first practice)
  • End: June 23 (final practice)

How often do teams practice?

  • Two team practices per week
  • Optional additional training sessions available for players seeking extra development

Which days are practices held?

  • Most practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Iron Peak
  • Some teams may practice on Mondays or Wednesdays, depending on scheduling needs

How many games will teams play?

Game schedules vary by team level:

  • Some teams play weekend tournaments around New Jersey
  • Others participate in league play (usually 12 games plus playoffs, if qualified)
  • For MSK League teams, we have requested two games per visit to reduce travel and make weekends more manageable for families

Will we need to purchase new uniforms?

No. New jerseys are not required for this season.
There may be a minor update to shorts due to a vendor change, but our goal is to keep uniforms consistent.

What about the July Live Period for Showcase teams?

Information about the July Live Period schedule and costs for showcase teams will be shared once spring teams are finalized. That will be part of our Summer season.
